Stirring up Fun!
December Weekend Camp
We had a great time at our “Culinary Creations” themed Weekend Camp on December 8-10! Activities revolved around cooking and of course some holiday fun. Campers enjoyed decorating cookies, sipping hot cocoa, watching “Ratatouille,” and making different arts and crafts.
We even had a special guest from the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance join us: “chef” Liam Hankins-Hull. Liam led a cooking demo for the campers and taught them a little bit about healthy eating. Campers donned chef hats and made banana pudding in a bag. It was a hit!
Of course, we had a talent show as well! This talent show was particularly special, though, because a new stage ramp at the Activity Center was unveiled. Campers participated in an informal ribbon-cutting ceremony and were excited to try it out. This new ramp allows easier access to our talent show stage, making the experience more accessible for everyone. Thank you to the Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund for making this new ramp possible!
Let’s not forget one of the best activities of the weekend: “decorate a counselor!” Campers had more fun choosing ornaments, garland, bows and other holiday accessories to decorate their counselors.
Overall, the weekend was full of holiday cheer and culinary perfection!
