Introducing Camp Aldersgate’s New Communications Interns for Summer 2024
Summer at Camp Aldersgate is about to get even more exciting with the addition of three remarkable individuals to our communications team: Addyson, Jhude and Emily.
Each intern brings their own unique blend of talent, passion and enthusiasm that promises to elevate our camp experiences to new heights.
Addyson, a senior majoring in Integrated Marketing Communications at Harding University, joins us as our Communications & Public Relations intern. She was drawn to the opportunity to apply her skills in a setting where communication plays a vital role in creating positive experiences for campers and staff alike. Addyson is eager for the chance to contribute to such a dynamic environment, where every effort makes a tangible difference in the lives of others. She’s eagerly anticipating the chance to immerse herself in the vibrant energy of Camp Aldersgate. And is looking forward to connecting with fellow team members, engaging with campers and being part of creating memorable experiences that will last a lifetime.
“I’m thrilled to join the team at Camp Aldersgate,” says Addyson. “Their want for belongingness and act to pursue it through communication aligned perfectly with my studies and aspirations. I’m excited to contribute to such a vibrant community and learn from this enriching experience.”
A fun fact about Addyson: She’s quite the traveler, having visited nine countries within the past year alone! From exploring bustling cities to immersing herself in the serene beauty of nature, Addyson’s adventures have taken her across diverse landscapes and cultures, enriching her perspective and fueling her passion for exploration.
Jhude, a Public Relations major with a Communication minor from the University of Central Arkansas, joins us as our Photographer Intern. His journey to Camp Aldersgate was sparked by a personal connection and a desire to better understand and communicate with individuals with disabilities.
“I wanted to work at Camp Aldersgate because I had found out a few months ago that my newborn baby sister was at risk of having an intellectual disability,” shares Jhude. “I knew that I had to apply for this position to help me better understand how to interact and properly communicate with those with disabilities.”
With a background primarily in sports and portrait photography, Jhude is excited to explore a new niche in event photography at Camp Aldersgate. He looks forward to capturing the heartfelt moments shared between campers and counselors.
A tidbit about Jhude: as a child and teenager, he couldn’t stand it when his mom snapped photos of every little moment. Cameras were his nemesis. But now? He’s knee-deep in a photography career, juggling three jobs behind the lens! Funny how things change, isn’t it?
Emily, a Creative Media Production major with a Marketing minor from Arkansas State University, brings her passion for photography to Camp Aldersgate as our Photography Intern. Inspired by the joy and excitement her friend experienced at Camp Aldersgate, Emily is eager to document the unforgettable moments of summer camp.
“This summer, I am looking forward to meeting new people and getting to see the pure joy on the campers’ faces,” says Emily. She is ready to capture the beauty and magic of Camp Aldersgate through her lens. Her dedication to preserving precious memories for others reflects her genuine love for her craft and the joy it brings to both her and those she photographs.
Emily has been a photographer for about four years and has loved every second of being able to capture beautiful moments for others. She cannot wait to do the same for individuals here at Camp Aldersgate, bringing her passion and expertise to document the unforgettable experiences
A fun fact about Emily: The highlight of her career has been getting to operate an ESPN camera. She is also an avid fan of Dr. Pepper, always keeping a can nearby for a refreshing sip.
