Leading with Heart: Elizabeth Glasbrenner

As Board President, Elizabeth Glasbrenner embodies this spirit of leadership with both strength and heart. Her role has been marked by a steady focus on advancing the mission, building community and ensuring that every camper has the opportunity to thrive.
Elizabeth’s connection to Camp Aldersgate is both professional and personal. As the parent of a camper, her daughter Grace, she has seen first-hand the impact of camp:
“As both a leader and the parent of a camper, I’ve seen how Camp Aldersgate truly changes lives— not only for campers, but also for counselors, counselors-in-training and families. Grace’s joy each summer reminds me why we work so hard behind the scenes,” she shared.
During her time as Board President, Elizabeth has helped guide the organization through meaningful progress in expanding programs, ensuring financial stability and improving facilities to provide every camper with a safe, inclusive and empowering experience. She notes that just as important as these big milestones are the everyday experiences—watching a camper try something new, make a friend or discover a sense of belonging. “Those moments are the heart of camp, and they’ve fueled everything I’ve done in this role,” she said.
Looking to the future, Elizabeth envisions Camp Aldersgate continuing to grow as a place where children and young adults of all abilities can experience adventure, independence and joy: “In the years ahead, I believe we’ll expand our reach so more families know the magic of camp and invest in programming and facilities that adapt to the evolving needs of all campers. Most of all, I envision a future where every camper feels the same sense of possibility and confidence that Grace has found here.”
