A Family Tradition Comes Full Circle at Camp Aldersgate’s 43rd Annual Fish Fry

For Brant Foster, Camp Aldersgate has been part of his story for more than 40 years. What began with a childhood day camp experience has grown into a family tradition of giving back—and this year, Brant, his wife Joanie, and their sons Jack and Riley are helping lead one of Camp Aldersgate’s biggest traditions as the 2026 Family Chairs of the 43rd Annual Fish Fry.

The 43rd Annual Fish Fry will take place Sunday, October 18, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Camp Aldersgate. The event brings the community together for an afternoon of great food, family-friendly activities and fun, all while supporting Camp Aldersgate’s mission.

From Camper to Community Champion

Brant first visited Camp Aldersgate around 1984 with his grandmother. Though his time at camp was brief, he still remembers the excitement of getting to experience the archery range.

Years later, he returned as a volunteer and saw Camp from a different perspective. “Being able to see a bright smile on the face of a kid who has overcome so much is a very moving experience.”

That experience stayed with him. Today, Brant sees Camp Aldersgate as a special part of the Little Rock community—a place where children can experience friendship, adventure, independence and the freedom to simply be kids.

That passion for Camp has become a family affair. The Fosters volunteered at the 2025 Fish Fry, helped with a spring cleanup project, and now are stepping into an even larger role as this year’s Family Chairs.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to chair the Fish Fry as a family this year,” Joanie said. “Volunteer work has always been a part of what we do together, and co-chairing an event like this, the four of us—it’s just super special.”

Come Celebrate Fish Fry With Us

For the Fosters, Fish Fry is an opportunity to continue a tradition that has meant so much to their family. For Camp Aldersgate, it is an opportunity to bring the community together in support of campers and families.

Jack is looking forward to “the serving of good catfish,” while Riley is excited for the fishing derby and seeing campers reel in their catches.

Join us Sunday, October 18, for the 43rd Annual Fish Fry! Enjoy an afternoon at Camp Aldersgate, connect with your community and help support programs for children, youth and young adults with physical and/or intellectual disabilities and medical diagnoses.
