Staff Update
Camp Aldersgate is looking forward to a fantastic 2013. Over the last several years, we have had significant growth in our facilities; and over the last two years, undergone extensive planning work in order to structure the operations of Camp Aldersgate to maximize our physical space, program capacities and staffing needs. Throughout this process, it has been our desire to keep you as informed and up-to-date as possible. With that in mind, we wanted to let you know some of the changes that have already occurred and provide some insight into our future as we look toward the year ahead.
We have made some internal staffing structure changes that will allow the Camp to expand and enhance our programs. We are thrilled to announce two new staff members who have joined our programs team, Ali Miller and Jimmie DuVall have accepted positions as Program Coordinators. They each have several years’ experience at Camp as Counselors and Supervisors for both the summer and weekend camping programs and are eager to get started.
Current staff members Tommy Howard and Stacy Robinson have both taken on new job titles and responsibilities. Tommy has assumed the role of Program Manager and will be the point of contact for program volunteers and seasonal program staff hiring and placement. He will also handle the application process and placement of campers in ALL programs. Stacy is our new Adult Volunteer/Special Projects Coordinator and will be seeking ways to maximize the presence of adult volunteers at the Camp through work days, special projects, committees and potential programmatic work.
Also on the program side, Daniel Carnahan, who has been with us since 2004, has left Camp Aldersgate for other adventures. We appreciate the many years Daniel served Camp Aldersgate and we hope that you will join us in wishing him well in his future endeavors.
In the development department of Camp, Kerri Daniels has joined us as our Director of Development. This addition to our already fantastic development team of Tisha Gribble and Megan Kennedy will certainly provide the Camp with the additional resources necessary to add more camps, more campers and continue to build upon our successes of the last few years.
The Camp’s board and staff are continuing to work on our Strategic Plan and Master Plan. We will also continue to work with a fundraising consultant who will help structure us for maximizing our fundraising abilities. So, as you can see, the hard work isn’t finished yet; however, you will only see the benefits of our labor in the years to come. While structure changes and new staff members are still “changes” that many people fear, Camp Aldersgate assures you that through these changes, we will only get better! It’s an exciting time at Camp as we work toward achieving our fullest potential. Stay tuned…
